Using arts techniques, experiential arts therapy is an inquiry into parts of yourself, your values, your experiences and how you would prefer to be.
What Is Experiential Arts Therapy?
When we tell our story, we always tell the one we already know—so we only rehash old insights.
Arts therapy is all about shifting that paradigm. To unlearn old stories, tell and create new ones or discover hidden truths.
When we do arts therapy, we can use arts modalities…to learn new things, things that are unknown to us. For instance, if instead of telling the same story you’ve told a hundred times you try to draw something that stood out to you…you may learn something new about that moment.
